These are essentially treated as Backdoors. Intel has the IME which can be partially de-blobbed. There are three companies which have claimed successful deblobbing although I don't think any of them have claimed complete success here - only partially, or mostly..

The situation with AMD and their PSP is apparently even worse and is essentially a Blackbox.
