common sense today is that privacy doesn't exist and we can't do anything, how do we change that sense?

I understand that the vast majority of people don't understand the importance of data privacy and this entire surveillance industry because it's a very abstract topic and full of technical terms, but after all, how can we change the common sense that privacy is not something so important to common sense, "OK, my data is mine and you have no right to spy on me"?
