China’s tech weapons roll in to quell demonstrations, identify protesters

Back in October, a day before President Xi Jinping was set to assume an unprecedented third term as general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, an activist named Peng Lifa made his way to a highway overpass not far from one of China’s key tech quarters. He was wearing a construction worker’s outfit and was carrying something under his arm.
