Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

The massive surveillance under which we live is so often benignly labelled to lull us into accepting, validating and even applauding its use. CCTV is a misnomer. It belongs to a time when video footage was held on bulky tapes and the system was confined to one place. Now, cameras are often networked - not 'closed circuit' at all. And they're not 'TV'. Let's call them what they are: public webcams - or spy cameras.
