I'm shopping for a new laptop, and in order to have more options, I'm considering not worrying about Intel ME and simply never connect via ethernet. My hope is that this is a substitute for neutralizing it. I could find very little information about whether or not it can use wifi. If I enable a wifi connection in my OS, will ME be able to use this, even if my OS is GNU/Linux? And can it use public wifi connections …
