Can a Roku tv be made private at all?

There's one available secondhand for a good price, and if I got a TV I'd like to be able to cast to it as I watch almost everything on my phone currently. I don't use any streaming services or youtube directly, I pirate everything that I don't own physically and use newpipe. So the only things I'd want the tv to do are cast/mirror from my phone and play dvds/from USB.
