I found that it is not possible to unsubscribe through the iOS app without immediately losing your paid features. You receive a warning saying that you are going to immediately lose your paid access if you continue to downgrade to the free plan. Common practice would be for you to retain your paid features for the period you have paid, or to provide a partial refund if not.
