Are there any Android firewalls to block communication with GPlay Services?

I know I can install a specific ROM and use a firewall, BUT I'm just curious if something like RethinkDNS or NetGuard can somehow block apps from talking to GPlay Services while still allowing other apps to. Baiscally, can I use gboard on stock Android but stop it from communicating with GPlay since I don't use that "let us learn" thing anyways.
