Are new vulnerability scanners built off of OpenVAS?

I am seeing lots of new companies developing vulnerability scanners in the market. However, I can't help but wonder if they are really being developed in-house, or are they (which I think is likely) just building off of the open-source OpenVAS?

Anyone have any insight into this?
