Apple has been really annoying lately. What is the easiest way for me try GrapheneOS?

I am thinking of giving GrapheneOS a try. What is a simple way for me to do this? Do I have to buy an unlocked Pixel Phone from Google and start from there? How technical is the process? And what are good photo - alternatives? Because I use my iphone for photos and that is my biggest concern is what photo service to use if I switch. Every other service I am good with.
