Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

So recently I got a notification on my phone saying that my password was compromised. I checked the account in haveibeenpwned.com and didn't find any breach.

So I was wondering how does apple know which passwords are compromised and where does it get this data from?

I'm not sure if this is the correct sub to post this in but any info is appreciated :)
