Anyone else use Flash drives and SD cards to store data on instead of a cloud service?

To put it simply, I don't trust any big tech companies with my photos, videos and what have you. I also fear that someone might hack into my account and steal everything I would of had on there. I don't even store my stuff on my laptop (despite using a local account instead of a Microsoft account). The only things on the computer are things I'm currently using.
