Anybody in a security role but feel like you aren’t allowed to do anything?

I’m, on paper, a systems engineer at a small MSP. I do a lot of systems stuff, but also a lot of firewall config and I am the “cybersecurity lead” for my company (my boss’s words). We don’t have any dedicated security personnel. I asked for a title change. They said nada. I said I wouldn’t even ask for more money. Not yet they said.
