Analyzing email headers

I'm looking at some email headers and trying to trace where the message came from. I understand the basics of how the headers work, but the fact that the to and from in consecutive headers don't match confuses me. Shouldn't there basically be a chain of matching servers in the headers? Sorry for such a beginner question.
