Am I the Developer from hell (for Cybersec folks)?

A little background. I've been in IT/engineering for about 4 decades. Have a BS in cybersec/IA and keep myself up to speed on cybersecurity issues (see other posts here ;-)

Recently another developer had a problem, code worked on the VM he used for developing but would not run on the VM QA uses.

The dev wrote up an IT ticket that was a bit vague on details, and led IT down the wrong path. 2 days later no movement …
