Alternate way to sandbox WhatsApp and Discord? (Samsung Galaxy)

neither Island nor Shelter are able to be set up on my device (Galaxy A12) due to it having a custom recovery. Is there any other way I can sandbox these two apps? They are necessary for me.
P.S: I am able to create a Work Profile using ADB, would installing applications in that be equivalent to a sandbox?
