Advice for securely storing a personal diary? (how much does github protect files?)

I write in my diary every day. In 2024, I am thinking of migrating my journaling from on paper notebooks to an Obsidian vault, which is basically just a set of .md files stored locally.

I would need to back up my files, though. I need some place to store them where I won't have to worry about it being leaked in data breaches or otherwise compromised because my diary entries have very sensitive information.
