2FA and lastpast auth question

So I installed recently last pass auth, but I see that the 2fa back up is under sms verification. Doesn't it run the risk of sim swapping? Sounds so weird for a leading cybersec company to use sms verification... thoughts on this? I recently got kicked out of my Google authenticator, without codes. So not sure what is the process with last pass in case this happens... Except printing / screengrab every single QR code when resetting 2fa....
