Why is privacy important to you?

I’m someone who has never been very interested in privacy, but I have a friend who’s pretty into it. I went into this sub to see what the community has to say about why it’s important. Obviously it’s creepy to know how much information is being collected about us, but what’s a more concrete reason to value privacy enough to take all these measures to protect it?
