What happened to privacy on DuckDuckGo?

Using DDG browser on ipad and have shut off browsing history with their "fire" button each time. And have no exemptions.

Also, since Safari actually controls browsers, also cleared browsing history, caches, etc. there. Shut off everything I can find to disable browsing history everywhere. Also shut off anything related to making suggestions related to web searches in Safari, etc.
