Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

Recently read about an [article](https://www.ibtimes.com/digital-trust-key-element-building-relationships-digital-economy-3704578) discussing the increasing importance of transparency and accountability in preserving trust. Thought it’d be an interesting topic in the cybersecurity/privacy space.

With so many data breaches occurring, should companies take more responsibility to protect consumer data and cover fraud damages? What policies would you like to see to enhance digital privacy, if any should exist. Or do we simply leave it to the customer to figure out?
