Here in the UK, Scotland's introduced the Hate Crime law, but a lot of British media says it's Orwellian. Some even claim it'll have curtain-twitchers like in lockdown-era UK and even innocent speech in private could be reported. Yes, seriously; look on some of the British newspaper sites.
