Questions about printer steganography

Now it seems that this was primarily done to tackle the counterfeit currency problems only in colored laser printers. Here are my two questions-

1. As per the last link above, all the printers in that list (which is not being updated anymore) are colored laser printers. They were not doing this in inkjet printers?
