ML/AI learning path

Hi there,
I'm looking to learn ML/AI to develop detection algorithms as a part of a new purple team member. What's the ideal learning path I should follow? I was looking at Sans 595 and SEC699, what do you think? What are the alternatives? I couldn't find much on ML applied to threat hunting.
