Is using Firefox on Whonix basically just as anonymous as using Tor?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I don't know much about this stuff and I was wondering that if a large part of why Tor is so anonymous is because all traffic goes through the Tor network, wouldn't that make any browser on Whonix just as anonymous? Like is there actually any possible way you can be de-anonymised on any browser on Whonix, as long as you don't say or do anything that can be linked back to you?
