Is Next cloud worth it even without self-hosting?

So, I am trying to open a Next cloud account mainly for calendar, to-do lists, contacts, etc. Nothing huge like pictures and files. I have no self-hosting knowledge at all. Is it worth it to open a Next cloud account with the recommended provider?
