Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

I'm doing a whole internet footprint cleanse for security reasons and reddit is on the list. I've heard that if you edit a comment, leave it up for a bit for reddit to update the cache to the new comments, then delete it and the profile, that could work.

Is there anyway to find the old comments even after all this? If so, anything else I could do to help secure my privacy in this regard?
