How to use a DNS blocker while using the thing i cant mention that starts with a V?

So I'm using a V with a kill switch, so permanently on, but i'd also like to use a DNS tool. The problem is Android doesn't allow a V and a DNS tool to be active at the same time. What's the solution here?
