How much (if any) open source tools does your work environment permit?

My employer paid for me to attend a CI/CD pipeline security class recently and we covered/used a ton of open source tools. Some were awesome, great UIs, features, etc.

I've noticed in my 2 most recent employers there isn't a ton of enthusiasm for open source tools. Generally the thought was "we need to be able to call them for support if SHTF".
