How does edge/bing know what I am searching on Google

I know r/privacy doesn't approve of google & Microsoft. However, I use Edge browser & google search at work and was surprised to see these search history entries appear in my Bing search. I never searched them through the address bar - just directly on the google homepage (was lazy to change the default Bing search in the address bar).Is this a known case?
