Google and privacy

I’m confused by the get away from Google rhetoric . I’ve recently spent a lot of time researching such a switch and alternative email providers etc. In most cases there is a trade-off with convenience / security .In fairness, Google provides me with a dashboard where I can stop webactivity being recorded, opt out of personalised ads etc and the Google offerings are very good. I can also use a browser which blocks trackers etc. If I follow this path …
