Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

Apple is implementing new rules for app developers in its App Store to tighten up user privacy. Developers will now be required to explain why they need access to select data and provide an approved reason for using certain APIs. The new policy aims to crack down on the misuse of APIs, particularly for fingerprinting purposes. The requirement will go into effect in fall 2023, and apps without a reason will be rejected starting in spring 2024.
