Any thoughts on making Dropbox less blacklistable more secure?

I run a small nonprofit that includes professionals working at various employers. We need to jointly edit heavily formatted documents giving people the option of either MSWord and Google Docs, and Dropbox is by far the best platform for this. Trouble is it's blacklisted almost everywhere.
(1) How much of the concern is downloading viruses etc? If so how to secure?
(2) How much is the concern that secure company data might be uploaded? Not clear they need …
